The Classic RT design originally entered service in 1939 and 150 of them served in London during World War II. Production resumed at the end of hostilities and eventually 7000 of the buses supplied almost the entire London bus network. They formed one of the greatest standardised fleets ever assembled in the world. Withdrawn from London service by 1979 they remain a timeless and nostalgic link to a different way of life.

This RT was built in 1951 and represents how the vast majority of London RT’s used to look.

This bus has been a regular attraction on many of the recent last Routemaster days in London.
Painted in traditional London red, this bus adds a touch of class and nostalgia to any occasion.
